Product Description
Get plans to build this farmhouse DIY chicken coop!
This chicken coop looks great and won’t break the bank. It measures 7 feet tall, 5 feet wide, and 5 feet deep with a 6 foot long run. It’s big enough for 12 chickens, has 4 nesting boxes, and an arched front door. To top it all off, the board and batten trim really brings home the farmhouse charm.

This plan was easy to follow and I love the Video it really helped! A few things we noticed while building. Materials these days are really expensive. It would be a smart decision to make the nesting box 4ft. We had a bad piece of plywood that we wanted to recut but $60 for a full size sheet just to cut down to ALMOST 4Ft was out of our budget. So we kept it as is. I want to also point out that you may want to consider adding a vent, we did. We also added an extra window above the nesting boxes for better air flow. We put the chicken door on the wall opposite of the entry door and put the run out the back so that I could place drip pans underneath the roosting rails for easier cleaning. Having the chicken exit there would have prevented this added feature. We couldn’t find heavy duty enough hinges for the door that opened past 90 degrees so I ended up buy 180 hinges and adding a block to the side wall allowing the door to open all the way and to be sturdy. We lined the inside with foam reflective insulation, put curtains around the nesting boxes and windows and used beaded plywood for a cuter exterior. Also since we vacation a lot, we added an automatic chicken door. Overall, with a few personal tweaks, it came out beautiful! Thanks for your work creating this Mike!
