I’ve had lots of interest around this bowl after sharing the rough turned photo in my post, Chip-N-Dip On The Way. Well, it’s 8 months later (where does time actually go?) and the piece is ready to be finish turned. I used the “dip” portion of the bowl to expand the chuck jaws into. Since the inside surface wasn’t very crisp, I used the tailstock for support. No one wants flying saucers in the shop!
Sorry, no process photos. Maybe the next one! Which I’ll get to soon if I can ever get a handle on my projects list… (hears wife laughing…whoops, she fell out of her chair)
Here it is all finished up and ready for use. I buy the glass dishes specifically for these chip-n-dip bowls. They even come with a silicon lid so that you can keep the dip from spilling out while you’re headed to your friend’s dinner party to show off the awesome chip-n-dip you bought from Mike (shameless plug, I know).
Thanks for reading! Feel free to leave comments or questions!

Hi Michael,
Thanks! Glad you like the bowl.
The glass insert (dip bowl) is Anchor Hocking and I found them in a set of 4 or 5 at a local Family Dollar.
Regards,
Mike
